Happy Holidays Everyone!

Posted in News on December 19, 2017 by mikeknox

The name of the game this year since the end of June has been teaching, teaching, and did I mention teaching… I am certainly glad to be in the studio over winter break! This past summer, room was made for the future salt kiln as seen here during the process. Brick are organized and now the details in design are being ironed out. Things take time yet I am enjoying the path I have taken after the first studio. Art, food, family…having value in what you do, friends, healthy food and exercise. These are important to me and I am enjoying life. I hope you, your families and friends enjoy these holidays. Of course don’t forget to stop in the gallery for those last minute gifts too! We are having a vintage car show Oct. 1st. This is a first time for the studio and of course we will be selling pots in the gallery, Memphis will be selling her pumpkins and we will have food, music, a photographer and great cars! Join us in all the fun and various aspects the studio offers. Looking forward to meeting new people and old friends.

Summer comes to a close

Posted in News on August 17, 2016 by mikeknox

Summer is coming to a close and we packed the summer full! With the help of some friends we prepped a large section of the studio grounds and now have a Fall harvest coming in. We will be selling squash and pumpkins both at the studio and a local farmers market. Mother and daughter are quite excited about this.

The pots from our Spring firing are almost gone although there are still a few jewels in the gallery. You should stop in! Clay is made and ready to be pugged for the next round of work and as Fall approaches this also means wood cutting for the studio stove and kiln.

As most of you know I have a love of old cars and motorcycles. The garage area of the studio is just that. Old car projects and of course gas station stuff as pictured below. Memphis and I restored an advertising pole and a tire leak tester. These were a couple great finds to add to the collection and the ambiance of the studio garage.   studio cropspring firetire testpole
